Hon. Eran Wickramaratne

Eran Wickramaratne is an Economist by training and holds a Degree in Economics and Politics and a M.Sc. in Economics from the University of London. A Banker by profession, Eran has served as Vice President of Citibank and Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Development Bank PLC (now known as NDB Bank).

In addition to his professional career, his keen interest in social development enabled him to serve the government as an Advisor, Director of the Board of Investment and founder Chairman of the Information Communication Technology Agency (ICT). He was a pioneer of the government of Sri Lanka’s ICT led development programme, e-Sri Lanka. As an advisor to the Minister of Economic Reform, Science & Technology, he spearheaded the first ICT Act of the Sri Lankan Parliament. Eran is also an Eisenhower Fellow.
